It’s the opening game of the Champions Trophy, and it is all about handling the nerves, for players and for Fantasy Managers alike. Pressure is something that is talked about very often, but its affects aren’t embraced very well, especially by the onlookers.
Players feel the pressure of finishing off games, of performing well when the chips are down and of making their country establish authority over their counterparts, but do you think that pressure is in anyway greater than what a Fantasy Manager experiences while setting up his initial team? I think not.
The initial team setup is probably the trickiest phase of a Fantasy tournament, but then that’s the thrill of being a Fantasy Manger, you need to figure out good team combinations before they are actually executed on the field.
England take on Bangladesh in the tournament opener and would desperately want to upturn their recent form against the Tigers. England would be feeling the home pressure, but with the kind of firepower in their dressing room, they should get the job done against a wounded Bangladesh side.
Both these sides are coming off horrendous batting performances in their last outing, and would want to return to normalcy come tomorrow.
Let’s get to business now!
