El Clasico expected to be postponed again
According to a report from Goal, the Tsunami Democratic, a Catalan protest group advocating for a self-determination referendum in Catalonia, has reportedly established four rally points around the Camp Nou stadium. About 18,000 followers of the group are expected to turn out for an event which is rumoured to be held on December 18 itself.
Their demonstration will very likely disrupt the game. The La Liga could once again postpone the match to avoid conflict with the political group. It remains to be seen if the match will be pulled all together from Barcelona and played at a neutral venue or will the date be changed once again.
In their statement, the Tsunami Democratic argue:
“At the moment, a large part of the Catalan population suffers exclusion for reasons of ideology. Catalans cannot exercise their fundamental rights without repression, nor can they exercise their rights to self-determination. Dozens of people are or have been in prison simply for exercising and promoting these rights.”

With Real Madrid’s close relationship with the Spanish state, the club are seen as one in direct opposition to their values. This is why the clash between the two is a very volatile one. It is in light of this fresh indications of protest that the Spanish FA may reconsider their decision on the fixture.
