Daniel Sams bowls dead ball: The Thunder pacer lost control of the ball in only the first over of the second innings in Brisbane.

During the first match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Brisbane Heat and Sydney Thunder in Brisbane, Sydney Thunder pacer Daniel Sams bowled a dead in only the first over of the second innings.

It all happened before the last delivery of the first over when the ball slipped out of Sams’ hand and landed near the square leg umpire. The incident was followed by both the players and commentators enjoying a laugh.

After Sydney Thunder captain won the toss and elected to bat, the visitors posted an impressive 172/6 in their allotted quota of 20 overs. Ferguson, who came in to bat at No. 3 in the third over, scored his 10th T20 half-century to top-score for his team.

Remaining unbeaten till the end, the 35-year old player scored 73* (44) with the help of six fours and three sixes. With bowling figures of 2-0-11-2, Heat spinner Mitchell Swepson was the pick of their bowlers.

Chasing a 173-run target, the hosts haven’t made the best of start as they’ve lost their top-order including captain Chris Lynn in the powerplay. Batsmen Matt Renshaw and Sam Heazlett are battling it out for Brisbane at the moment.
