Cricket Australia hilariously reacts to Peter Siddle’s stunning no-look run out in BBL. The former Australian pacer pulled the curtains on his international career a few days back.

Peter Siddle may have called time on his international career but his performance on the field suggests that he still has some gas in him. The veteran pace bowler helped Adelaide Strikers restrict Sydney Thunders to a score of 168 in 20 overs.

Siddle picked up 2 wickets while conceding 30 runs in his 4 overs. However, he couldn’t stop the Thunders from winning the match as the Stikers narrowly lost by a margin of 3 runs. The most thrilling moment from the match however, came from neither the bat or the ball but from Siddle’s fielding.

In the 14th over of Syndney Thunder’s innings, Callum Ferguson pushed the ball to the covers. Ferguson attempted to sneak a single however, confusion ensued and Usman Khwaja ended up losing his wicket in the process.

The fielder threw the ball towards the bowler’s end where Khwaja was attempting to get behind the crease. Siddle brilliantly collected the ball and deftly struck the bails behind him without looking at the stumps.

Replays confirmed the dismissal and Siddle himself looked surprised at what he had just pulled off. The BBL uploaded the dismissal on their twitter with the caption:

“P SIDDY STOP IT! That’s the cheekiest of cheeky run-outs from the Strikers veteran! Khawaja out for 63.”

Cricket Australia was not far behind and soon came up with a hilarious tweet of their own. They wrote:

“Are you sure you want to retire @petersiddle403?!?! #BBL09.”

Peter Siddle had a long fruitful career with the Baggy Greens that saw him feature in 67 Tests, 20 ODIs and 2 T20Is in which he has managed to grab as many as 241 wickets across all the formats.
