WATCH: Lance Morris breaks Shaun Marsh’s bat into two pieces in BBL 2019-20
Lance Morris breaks Shaun Marsh’s bat: The Stars’ fast bowler broke the Renegades’ veteran batsman’s bat into two pieces.
During the 30th match of the ongoing ninth season of the Big Bash League between Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars at the Docklands Stadium, Melbourne Stars fast bowler Lance Morris broke the bat of Melbourne Renegades batsman Shaun Marsh into two pieces.
It all happened on the last delivery of the fourth over when Marsh drove a Morris delivery towards cover. While the bat made a pleasing sound, the visual which followed wasn’t very pleasing for the batsman.
The southpaw was immediately seen signaling towards the dressing room for a new bat. Known for his outright pace, Morris proved as to why he is highly rated as far as bowling fast is concerned. It is his pace which has earned him the nickname “Wild Thing”.
Introduced into the attack as the first-change bowler by Stars captain Glenn Maxwell, Morris conceded 33 runs in the three overs that he bowled without picking any wicket.
On the other hand, 36-year old Marsh’s 46th T20 half-century played a vital role in Renegades scoring 168/7 in 20 overs after Maxwell won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. Opening the batting in place of regular captain Aaron Finch, Marsh ended up scoring 63 (43) with the help of seven fours and two sixes.
