Rohit Sharma to miss 3rd ODI match against Australia? Virat Kohli gives a clarification

Rohit Sharma to miss 3rd ODI game against Australia in Bangalore as the Indian opening batsman picked an injury in the last match.

India was able to level the series at Rajkot by thrashing the Aussies in the 2nd ODI match. However, in both matches, India had to deal with their players getting hurt.

In the first match, Rishabh Pant picked a concussion after being hit by a ball, which made him miss the following match. Whereas, in the other match India’s vice-captain in limited formats got hurt while fielding against Australia.

The incident happened in the 43rd over when the opening batsman made a diving effort in the deep to stop a shot hit by Ashton Agar. Rohit Sharma came running across from sweeper cover before diving during which he jammed his hand.

As soon as he stood up, he started grimacing while holding his left arm. The Indian physio soon walked out and Rohit Sharma decided to leave the field with him.

After the game ended, India skipper Virat Kohli gave an update on his deputy, saying that the opener’s shoulder popped out a number of times. He also said that Rohit is more than likely to be fit for the crucial series-decider.

“Rohit’s left shoulder has popped out of few times, and he should be good to go in the next game,” said Virat Kohli at the post-match presentation ceremony.

India and Australia will face each other on Sunday in the series-deciding match at Bangalore, as both, the teams are level to each other after winning one match each so far.

Thus, the men in blue desperately need their best opening batsman ahead of the match, hopefully, Kohli’s statement will give relief on Sunday.
