Yuvraj Singh and Wasim Akram to play Bushfire relief match
Yuvraj Singh and Wasim Akram to play: The two World Cup-winning cricketers will play a charity match in Australia next month.
The star-studded lineups for the upcoming Bushfire Relief Match between Ponting XI and Warne XI have further enhanced with the addition of more World Cup-winning players in former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram.
The development was made public by Cricket Australia a few hours ago who also announced that the reunion of legendary Australia opening pair in Matthew Hayden and Justin Langer.
While it has not been confirmed as to which player will represent which side at this point in time, the aforementioned additions will surely allure fans into the cricket stadium on February 8.

“I would love to be involved in any way I can to raise funds or to help the people in Australia. Before I was married to an Australian, Australia has always been very close to my heart.
“I feel for Australia; thank God there was rain in the last couple of days and hopefully that will help. The devastation the Australians have been through, my heart goes out to them,” Akram was quoted as saying to AAP previously.
While Sachin Tendulkar and Courtney Walsh are set to coach both the teams, the likes of Steve Waugh, Mel Jones and Andrew Johns will also be involved in a non-playing capacity.
Wasim Akram, Yuvraj Singh and Michael Hussey have been confirmed to play the Bushfire Cricket Bash on 8th February, Yuvraj and Akram might end up in Ricky Ponting’s team whereas Michael Hussey might join Shane Warne’s team.

While more players will be added in the days to come, the 19 players who have confirmed their participation include Shane Warne, Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Alex Blackwell, Andrew Symonds, Brad Fittler, Brad Haddin, Brett Lee, Elyse Villani, Grace Harris, Justin Langer, Luke Hodge, Matthew Hayden, Michael Clarke, Mike Hussey, Phoebe Litchfield, Shane Watson, Yuvraj Singh, Wasim Akram
