Dwayne Bravo hails MS Dhoni for trusting him in Indian Premier League
Dwayne Bravo hails MS Dhoni: Super Kings’ all-rounder opened up on the support received from his captain and coach.
Had it not been for the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo would be playing for Chennai Super Kings in the 13th season of the Indian Premier League.
Bravo, 36, had joined Super Kings in 2011 and has been playing for them since then except for the two years (2016 and 2017) when the franchise was banned from the IPL.
In 102 matches for Chennai, Bravo has scored 1,203 runs at an average of 28.64 and a strike rate of 136.24 including three half-centuries. With bowling being his strong suit, Bravo has dismissed 118 batsmen at an average of 23.29, an economy rate of 8.32 and a strike rate of 16.80.

Speaking during a live session alongside the franchise’s page on social media platform Instagram, Bravo embraced representing Super Kings for seven seasons.
“With CSK, there is a sense of family, it is not just a team, over the years the cricketers who have joined the team, they have developed a lot, I have played for other franchises as well, it’s important that everyone should be on the same page,” Bravo was quoted as saying.

Bravo, who came out of international retirement after 14 months to play for West Indies earlier this year, hailed his captain at Super Kings in Mahendra Singh Dhoni for trusting and backing him for all these years.
“MS Dhoni has always trusted me and the coach Stephen Fleming also backs me. They allow me to be myself. I bowl in the death overs and sometimes I end up going for runs. CSK has always shown faith in my ability to bowl at the death. Coming up against top players, things won’t always go your way. But I am a strong believer in my talent,” Bravo said.
