WWE comments on Wrestler who tested positive for COVID-19. A wrestler who had been at the performance centre has tested positive.
The WWE is deemed an essential business in Florida. This has allowed the company to shoot weekly events without a hitch. However, like everybody else, the wrestlers remain susceptible to coronavirus. A wrestler at the Performance centre was revealed to have been infected by the disease on June 15.

Backlash was held a day prior on June 14th. The WWE have since claimed that no other person in attendance at the facility have reported any symptoms. However, they will still test all their performing and non-performing staff as a precautionary measure.

“A developmental talent, who was last on site at WWE’s training facility on Tuesday, June 9, has tested positive for COVID-19,” said WWE associate medical director Dr. Jeffrey Dugas in a statement. “Since that time, no other individuals that attended the facility have reported symptoms. However, out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the health and safety of the company’s performers and staff, all talent, production crew and employees on site at the training and production facilities will be tested for COVID-19 immediately. Following the test results, WWE plans to proceed with its normal television production schedule.”
The name of the wrestler was not divulged in the statement.
The coronavirus has deeply impacted the world of WWE.
The company has had to postpone their Hall of fame awards, host Wrestlemania across two nights in front of an empty stadium and fire a host of superstars in a single day as a cost cutting measure.
