Jofra Archer set to join England squad: The England fast bowler is certain to join the squad ina bio-secure bubble this evening.
England fast bowler Jofra Archer is certain to join the national squad today evening after testing negative for COVID-19. It is worth mentioning that the English players have already arrived in a bio-secure bubble at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
Archer, 25, wasn’t allowed to join the squad originally as one of his family members was unwell during this weekend. The right-arm bowler was expected to undergo an additional COVID-19 test on Wednesday before being allowed to join the squad today.

Archer, who made his Test debut during last year’s Ashes, is highly likely to feature in England’s first XI when they resume international cricket post the COVID-19 outbreak against West Indies from July 8.

England cricket took to their Twitter handle to announce the development regarding Archer. “UPDATE: @JofraArcher has tested negative for COVID-19. He will join the England camp at Ageas Bowl later today and will be free to start training tomorrow with the rest of the group,” read the tweet.

While Archer will official join the English squad now, he has resumed training post his elbow injury. Claiming himself to be fully fit, Archer gave evidence of the same via an Instagram story from England batsman Ollie Pope.
Archer, who is yet to play a Test match against West Indies, has picked 30 wickets in seven Tests at an average of 27.40, an economy rate of 3 and a strike rate of 54.8.
