Nitin Menon part of ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires for 2020-21
Nitin Menon part of ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires: The 36-year old umpire is only the third Indian to be included into the Elite Panel.
India umpire Nitin Menon has become the third Indian to be part of ICC’s Elite Panel of Umpires for the cycle 2020-21. Menon, 36, who made his international umpiring debut during the India and England T20I in Kanpur in2017, has also become the youngest umpire to feature in the Elite Panel.
Earlier part of Emirates ICC International Panel of Umpires, Menon has officiated in three Tests, 24 ODIs and 16 T20Is in his three-year career so far.
Son of former international umpire Narendra Menon (who officiated in four ODIs in the 90s), Menon’s selection into the Elite Panel has been made by a selection panel consisting of ICC General Manager Geoff Allardice, former player and commentator Sanjay Manjrekar and match referees Ranjan Madugalle and David Boon.
Delighted for Nitin Menon who makes the ICC Elite Panel of Umpires at just 36. His officiating in domestic and international cricket these past few years has been outstanding. Well deserved. 👏🏻👏🏻 https://t.co/OiBTpI9T7I

Menon, who has replaced England’s Nigel Llong in the Elite Panel, has followed the likes of Srinivas Venkatraghavan and Sundaram Ravi among Indian umpires.
Menon, who had stood in 2018 and 2020 editions of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, had represented Madhya Pradesh in two List A matches in 2004.
