Tim Bresnan to represent Warwickshire: The veteran all-rounder will now be seen playing for Warwickshire in the county circuit.

Veteran England all-rounder Tim Bresnan has moved to Warwickshire on a two-year deal. The development comes on the back of the 35-year old player parting ways with Yorkshire after a 19-year glorious career.

Since him hanging his boots at Yorkshire, there were murmurs of Bresnan joining Warwickshire in the English media. It was only today that the development has been confirmed.

Bresnan, who last played competitive cricket in September 2019, has picked 557 wickets in 199 first-class matches at an average of 30.93 and a strike rate of 59.3. In 452 limited-over matches, Bresnan dismissed 483 batsmen in both List A and T20 cricket.

A handy option down the order with the bat, Bresnan had scored six first-class centuries and 46 half-centuries across formats. Having last played for England in 2015, Bresnan was part of the winning Yorkshire side in 2014 and 2015.

Speaking in a statement regarding his new move, Bresnan expressed excitement at playing at the Edgbaston and having a conversation with Warwickshire Sporting Director Paul Farbrace.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Warwickshire. It’s a club that I’ve always admired, and I’ve always thoroughly enjoyed playing at Edgbaston with Yorkshire and England.

“I’ve had some great conversations with Paul Farbrace about the way that he plans to take the club forwards, and I see this move as a great fit for both of us. I have still got a strong desire to continuing playing at the top level and to win, so hopefully I can pass on a bit of my experience to the young players who are coming through,” Bresnan said.
