Ganguly has a lot of belief in Hardik Pandya’s abilities

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly has praised the India star all-rounder Hardik Pandya. He said that Hardik Pandya has become a match winner for India. He also said that the development of Pandya as a player is positive sign for the Indian team.

In his column written in the Times of India, Ganguly said that “India has played quite excellently against Australia, except a few areas, where they could have been better. The biggest plus point for me is Hardik Pandya. He has brought a great improvement in his game and in the last few months he has emerged as a match winner for India”.

Ganguly told “Pandya has become mentally strong and has also shown that he has the game in him to survive at different circumstances. Pandya will have to maintain this approach further in the long run  and need to do better with the ball in order to improve his stats in the near future. ”

On Ajinkya Rahane, Ganguly told  that  “Rahane has taken full advantage of the opportunity he has received so far , so he should  have definitely felt a little sad when he was kept out of the T20 series.” He advised the Indian team management to keep Rahane consistently in the team as his presence strengthens the batting line up for Team India.

Significantly, Hardik Pandya has performed very well in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia. He has scored 222 runs in 5 matches at an astonishing average of 55.50. At the same time, he took 6 wickets at an economy rate of 6.06. He was also awarded with Man Of The Series.

On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane has scored  4 consecutive half-centuries in the ODI series against Australia. Despite this,The selectors kept him out of the recently concluded T20 series against Australia. There was a lot of criticism against the selectors about this decision.
