England vs West Indies 2020: England name 14-member squad for third Test at Old Trafford
England name 14-member squad for third Test: England haven’t revealed their Playing XI on the eve of the third Test.
Coming on the back of a 113-run victory against West Indies at Old Trafford, England are all set to take on the same opposition at the same venue from tomorrow.
England, who had lost the first Test, need to register their second consecutive victory in a bid to regain the Wisden Trophy. Given their recent record in this format, the hosts would be eager to continue their winning momentum for inconsistency has affected them dearly when it comes to winning Test series of late.
Not expected to tinker with their batting order, you might see England making a few changes to their bowling order to ensure that they put their best foot forward in the deciding match tomorrow.
England name 14-member squad for third Test
On the eve of the Test match, England haven’t revealed their Playing XI but have announced a 14-member squad. In addition to the 11 players who took the field in the second Test, England have included three seam-bowling options in James Anderson, Jofra Archer and Mark Wood.
It is worth mentioning that the trio had played the first match but was replaced by Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes and Sam Curran in the second match. While Anderson and Wood were rested to manage their workload, Archer was left out for breaching biosecurity protocol while traveling from Southampton to Manchester.
The development means that Root now has to shortlist three out of six fast bowlers on the morning of the deciding match.
