Twitter erupts as Rafa Nadal completes La Decima at the French Open
Was there ever a doubt? Even if there was one, it was pretty obvious that he would fight his way through, because that is what Nadal does, and that is what he has been doing for the past 10 years.
Rafa Nadal regained his Roland Garros throne in emphatic fashion, completely blowing away Stan Wawrinka in a one sided French Open final. The way he went about his business was surreal; unfair at times too. He didn’t drop a set in the tournament and completed the La Decima in the most authoritative way possible.
When Nadal had to retire in the 3rd round last year, it felt like the French Open had had enough of Nadal’s brilliance and that a new prince would come in and take the throne, but the King hadn’t really departed, he had just taken a small sabbatical.
The start of the 2017 season marked the return of Nadal. The fighting was visible on court, almost oozing through all those running forehands of his, shouting out loud, announcing Nadal’s return. The Australian Open final proved to be a dream final for the Tennis romantics, but Nadal came up short, a defeat that hurt, but did not hamper the comeback.
Then came the clay, and with it came the familiarity, the familiarity of surface, the familiarity of victories. He conquered Monte Carlo and Madrid but came up short in Rome, raising a few questions over his Roland Garros campaign, but boy didn’t he shut his critics up.
Nadal conquered La Decima without dropping a set, a huge testament to the way he dominated his opponents on court.
This is how Twitter erupted after Nadal’s win!

He's won Roland Garros 10 times. 30% of those times without losing a set. Unreal.
