Sebastian Vettel to Aston Martin: German F1 Driver to sign deal with new team in next week’s Belgian GP
Sebastian Vettel to Aston Martin: The German is expected to put pen-to-paper on the deal at Spa, Belgium.
As earlier reported, Sebastian Vettel is indeed set to sign for Aston Martin for the 2021 season onward. Tancredi Palmeri, a renowned sports journo, had tweeted this couple of weeks back confirming the move. “Vettel will be the driver of Aston Martin, the new team currently known as Racing Point. (It) should be a 3 years contract, and Vettel will replace Perez.”
Now, according to the Kronen Zeitung newspaper, the German will sign on the dotted lines at Spa, on the sidelines of the Belgian GP. Italian daily Gazzetta dello Sport second that, mentioning $15 million as the annual salary for the fout-time champion.
They, however, also add that Sergio Perez is willing to bring in sponsors to ensure he keeps his seat in 2021. Aston Martin promoter has a decision to make, whether to keep Perez at the expense of his son Lance, or let the loyal Mexican go.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Vettel has received a contract offer from Racing Point (Aston Martin) with an annual salary of 15 million dollars, which Vettel will sign at the end of August – on the weekend of the Belgian Grand Prix!

Mattia Binotto trashes rumors of sabotage
It has been suggested that Ferrari are back to their notorious best, this time sabotaging Sebastian Vettel’s race performance. He has consistently under-performed this season; teammate Charles Leclerc has already been on the podium twice. But Team Boss Mattia Binotto thrashed those rumors, saying we need Sebastian “for our success”.
“No, absolutely not.”
“Regardless of the choices we have made about the future, he is part of the Ferrari family and we trust him as a driver and as a person.
“My answer to that is very simple: that is completely wrong. First of all, we need Sebastian and his talent. We need him for our success. So exactly the opposite is the case.”
