Tarouba weather: Rain has affected the ongoing Caribbean Premier League match between St Lucia Zouks and Barbados Tridents.

During the fifth match of the ongoing eighth season of the Caribbean Premier League between St Lucia Zouks and Barbados Tridents in Tarouba, a rain interruption has forced the players to return back to the dressing rooms.

After Tridents captain Jason Holder won the toss and chose to bat, his team failed to capitalize on the start provided by opening batsman Johnson Charles who scored a good-looking 35 (19) including three fours and a couple of fours.

Tridents’ batsmen getting out after one another saw them scoring 131/7 in 18.1 overs the umpires decided to take the players off as the rain gods continue to affect cricket amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

In what is a rarity especially in a low-scoring T20 match, St Lucia captain Daren Sammy used as many as eight bowlers to put on display their bowling depth.

All-rounder Roston Chase, who scored his maiden T20 half-century in his last match, picked two wickets on consecutive deliveries to dent the opposition. Other than Chase, seamer Scott Kuggeleijn also dismissed two batsmen today.

A precipitation of 100% in Tarouba hints at continuous rain throughout the day. According to weather.com, there’s a rain prediction of 90% for today which speaks against the possibility of conducting a full T20 match.

In addition to the persistent rain, there is also a prediction of heavy thunderstorm throughout the day. If the weather prediction holds true, there will be minimal chances of this match getting completed.

It is worth mentioning that Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs are also scheduled to play a match today. Going exclusively by the prediction, one believes the fortune of that match is also under clouds.
