Zac Crawley maiden Test century: Twitter applauds English batsman’s first Test hundred vs Pakistan
Zac Crawley maiden Test century: The English batsman reached the three-figure mark for the first time in Test cricket today.
During the first day of the third Test of the ongoing England’s tour of Pakistan in Southampton, England batsman Zac Crawley registered his maiden Test century to stand tall in a difficult situation for his team.
Coming in to bat at No. 3 in the fifth over, Crawley received a loose delivery on the leg-side from Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi which he comfortably flicked for a boundary. In the same over, Crawley dodged a yorker from Afridi to score his second boundary on only the third ball.
Despite losing an early wicket, Crawley and England opening batsman Dom Sibley (22) played positive cricket to ensure that the visitors don’t run away with an early advantage.

Crawley, who hit boundaries off Yasir Shah and Naseem Shah, showed no signs of getting troubled in his first hour in the middle. After an elongated streak of dot balls, Crawley hit a boundary off Afridi to complete his half-century a delivery before the lunch break.
The 22-year old right-hand batsman might have done the same with respect to scoring his century in the last over before the tea break but it wasn’t to be as he walked back to the pavilion on 97*. With England losing another two wickets in the second session, Crawley holding his end was the need of the hour for the hosts.

Of all landmarks and milestones for a batsman, nothing perhaps matters as much as a maiden Test ton. Well played Zak Crawley!
