Why are NBA Games Postponed: NBA Teams including Lakers Boycott Playoff games due to Jacob Blake shooting

With the Milwaukee Bucks not taking the court against the Orlando Magic and the possibility of other teams doing, the NBA has postponed today’s 3 playoff games.

The Milwaukee Bucks did not come out of their locker room ahead of Game 5 against the Orlando Magic today. Despite the best attempts of numerous NBA officials to talk them out of their move, the Bucks did not budge from their stance and stayed in.

The Orlando Magic refused to accept their forfeit and left the arena. This placed the NBA in quite a cavalier spot as it had to decide on what course of action to take. Their decision to defer their headaches to the next day is probably for the best.

3 NBA Games postponed today

This is the first time in the NBA’s 73-year history that a playoff game has had to be postponed. Even in the 1950s and 60s, when racism was rife throughout the USA and the likes of Bill Russell were subjected to racial heckling at their own home courts, there was never a stand of this magnitude taken by the players.

The Milwaukee Bucks have set an inspiring example for players in all sports on how to take a stand. Their moral fiber in giving up paychecks and possibly a chance at a championship despite being the best team in the NBA is truly commendable.

Giannis emerges from the Bucks locker room. Several players have come out to use the restroom, which is around the corner from the locker room. All players have gone back in. Well over an hour from the expected tip off.
