Virat Kohli finally speaks after Kumble’s resignation
Anil Kumble’s resignation has rocked Indian cricket to its core. Not only has he left the team without a coach, skipper Kohli is also feeling the pressure. It is no secret that Kohli and Kumble had a major falling out.
Kohli has come under the spotlight for various reasons over the past week. His decision to field first in the final, his failure with the bat and then his alleged role in Kumble’s dismissal as the coach has put a lot of pressure on the star batsman.
From various source, we have learnt that Kohli and Kumble were not on speaking terms during the Champions trophy. The pair had little to no interaction, with several team members feeling that it did not lead to a conducive environment.

And now Kohli has spoken out,
“Obviously Anil bhai has expressed his views and he has taken a decision to step out and we will respect that decision. It’s something that has happened right after the tournament,” Kohli said.
“(But) what happens in the dressing room is sacred and private,” alluding to the comments made by Kumble. “It is important to maintain the sanctity of the dressing room,” he further added.
“One thing for sure is that I have had 11 press conferences that have happened during the Champions Trophy. We have created a culture over the last 3-4 years that whatever happens in the change room, we have tried to maintain the sanctity of the change room throughout. That is what the whole team believes in. For us that is paramount,” the Indian captain added.
