Keaton Jennings T20 century: Watch Lancashire batsman’s maiden hundred propels team to victory in T20 Blast
Keaton Jennings T20 century: The 28-year old batsman from Lancashire scored his maiden T20 century in his 56th match.
During a North Group match for the ongoing T20 Blast between Durham and Lancashire in Chester-le-Street, Lancashire opening batsman Keaton Jennings scored his maiden T20 century to propel his team to a 27-run victory.
Opening the batting with wicket-keeper batsman Alex Davies (65), Jennings dominated in a 170-run opening stand which was brought to an end in the 18th over by Matty Potts.
Other than hitting Durham and England fast bowler Mark Wood for a couple of aerial shots which resulted in boundaries, Jennings was seen gloriously reverse-sweeping the opposition spinners at will for similar result.
Before getting out off Nathan Rimmington in the penultimate over, Jennings scored 108 (63) with the help of 10 fours and three sixes as Lancashire ended up with 190/3 in 20 overs. With bowling figures of 4-0-24-1, Wood was Durham’s best bowler at the Riverside Ground.
In response, Durham could only manage 163/7 in 20 overs on the back of opening batsman Alex Lees’ fifth T20 half-century, 51 (39), with the help of three fours and two sixes. Seamer Tom Bailey and spinner Matt Parkinson picked up a couple of wickets each for the visitors.
Out of the seven matches scheduled to be played in T20 Blast last night, only this match yielded a result as all others were washed out due to inclement weather across the country.
