Alex Hunt : The One Armed Kiwi Player earns ATP Points
Alex Hunt is an inspiration for all of us. The one armed Kiwi, who has a prosthetic lower left arm, plays the game that he loves because he finds it to be a liberating experience. And Hunt won all our hearts when he beat Christopher Cajigan without dropping a game US$15,000 ITF event in Guam..
The 23 year old hails from Nelson. Born without a lower left arm, Hunt has a very strong serve backed with a powerful forearm shot. These are two weapons which he uses in all of his games.

But the most important factor as his mind, as he believes ‘the key was his ability to control his opponent’s serve with his forehand and dominate points’.
Hunt has been playing full time for the past year in Asia and Europe with his main objective being to maximize his ATP rankings.
After the ITF event in Guam, Hunt will base himself out of Madrid, where he will participate in events across Spain. He feels that his would give him the necessary exposure to play and test himself against some of the best players in the world.
The ITF Men’s circuit is the lowest rung on the world tennis ladder. This is primarily used to give an opportunity for youngsters, as this is a wonderful opportunity for fresh talent to grow and be noticed.
