What happened to Gordon Hayward? When will Celtics star rejoin the NBA Bubble in Orlando
NBA Injury News: In media availability for the Boston Celtics today, Brad Stevens said that Gordon Hayward’s rehab is coming along nicely. Hayward is expected to be back in late September.
The Celtics forward suffered a Grade III right ankle sprain on 17th August in the Boston Celtics’ Game 1 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. He is expected to miss about four weeks. Hayward suffered the injury in the fourth quarter after landing on teammate Daniel Theis’ foot. He left the arena in crutches and wasn’t putting weight on his foot for about a week or so.

Hayward was one of the integral Boston Celtics responsible for their regular season success. He was averaging his best numbers since signing with the Celtics this season and went into the postseason with a lot of momentum.
To face the Milwaukee Bucks in a prospective Conference Finals matchup, the Celtics will need all the bodies they can get. But given the nature of Hayward’s injury and the updates we have received, he might miss a few games of that series.
