India Thump Pakistan Again in the HWL Semi Final
India and Pakistan face each other again in the HWL semi final in a match that is unfortunately being forgotten today. While cricket evokes passion among us, hockey just does not give us the same feeling, which is such a shame.
But it is still a huge match, and it was expected to be a tight contest. The Indian hockey team have been on the rise over the last few years as many people believe that the future is very bright. Their last thrashing of Pakistan would still be fresh in both teams’ minds, which is why this match is expected to be much tighter.
On the other hand, the Pakistan team is sprinkled with brilliance as the likes of Ajaz Ahmed lead their team mates in every match.
Their last thrashing of Pakistan would still be fresh in both teams’ minds, which is why this match is expected to be much tighter. Or so we thought!
India took control early in the match as Ramandeep scored the opening goal for India from a penalty corner.
India then doubled their lead, as Talwinder Singh cleverly finished a good move for the Indian team.
And it got better for the Indians, as Mandeep Singh scored another to give India a commanding 3-0 lead.
Things did not change, as Harmanpreet got his second of the match and gave India a 4-0 lead heading into the half time.
Things got embarrassing for Pakistan, as Harmanpreet scored a 5th goal for India as they took embarrassing lead.
Pakistan got a consolation goal to make it 5-1 as Ajaz Ahmed gets one back.
But then Mandeep scored in the dying minute to make it 6-1.
