Vijender Singh’s next fight date revealed
Vijender Singh to fight in India again
In a blockbuster announcement, Vijender Singh will be fighting his next bout in India on 1st April. In an intriguing winner-takes-all bout, the Indian boxer will go up against Chinese boxer Zulpikar Maimaitiali. Vijender Singh, the current WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight champion will face the WBO Oriental Super Middleweight champion.
Credible sources affirmed, “Vijender is going to fight his next bout in Mumbai. He is looking to step up the ante in his professional career. Having already fought in New Delhi, Vijender now wants to fight in Mumbai and looking forward to it. He is hoping that crowds in Mumbai will be as boisterous and loud as the ones in Delhi.”
Akhil Kumar, Jitendra Kumar also to debut
Along with the Beijing Olympics bronze medalist, Indian boxers Akhil Kumar and Jitendra Kumar will also feature in this event. These boxers recently turned professional and will be debuting in this hugely anticipated event. “The venue is not yet decided but it is going to be a popular stadium,” sources added.

Interestingly, Zulpikar Maimaitiali is also new to professional boxing just like his Indian rival. He made his debut in 2015 and has won seven out of the eight bouts he has contested in. This stellar record also boasts of five knockouts.
Vijender to extend his unbeaten streak?
Vijender Singh’s short career has been amazing thus far. He has an impeccable record of eight victories out of eight fights. He defeated Francis Cheka last December in his last fight in Delhi which was a one sided contest. Moreover, he is currently based out of the United Kingdom where he trains with Lee Beard.

Sceptics have raised doubts on Vijender Singh’s pedigree. They believe that he is yet to face a tough challenger. Hence, even though he has an enviable record, this bout is an opportunity for the Indian to prove his naysayers wrong!
