“Mistakes should be punished”- Sebastian Vettel asks for harsher laws in Formula 1 to make drivers adhere to the laws of the sport.

Sebastian Vettel, one of the most experienced drivers in the paddock has openly advocated for harsher laws in the sport, as they are not being rightly penalised currently.

“As drivers, we believe that mistakes should be punished. That would make everything easier. But we need to think carefully about which solution makes the most sense per corner,” says the four-time world champion in a conversation with Speedweek.com.

Vettel says there is already a solution. “You have the track and then a strip of gravel next to it, so it doesn’t give any advantage to get off the track. Then another layer of asphalt.

“There is no simple answer to this question. But the only asphalt takes away the character of many tracks and makes it too easy”, concludes Vettel.

In the last Formula 1 Grand Prix, there was a grave incident involving multiple cars, with many drivers suspected to be the reasons for the crash. But nothing happened to any of them except for a warning was given.

This season has not been good for Vettel but often he has been a victim of miscreants too. Earlier in the season, he crashed with Charles Leclerc which forced both of them out of the race.

This was not the first time he had a crash with Leclerc but several happened last season. Thyough, he is not total innocent too and have implanted several dangerous moments by himself.

Nevertheless, Vettel’s plea likely to get a consideration is still a question. But the German driver has not been at his best this season and embarks for a new journey in his career by joining Racing Point next season.
