Ravindra Jadeja-Faf du Plessis superlative relay catch: The Chennai Super Kings-duo put on display an outstanding fielding effort.

During the 21st match of the ongoing 13th season of the Indian Premier League between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi, Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and batsman Faf du Plessis joined hands to put on display an outstanding fielding effort to dismiss Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder Sunil Narine.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 11th over when Narine’s attempt to up the ante against CSK spinner Karn Sharma saw him hitting the ball high into the night sky.

Having slogged Sharma between long-on and deep mid-wicket, Narine departed for 17 (9) with the help of one four and one six after he was demoted to the batting order at No. 4.

Jadeja, who was fielding at deep mid-wicket, ran towards his right before diving full-length to complete the catch. However, just as he was about the touch the boundary rope due to momentum, Jadeja was aware enough to throw the ball back to du Plessis who had ran to his left from long-on.

Du Plessis, who is currently the second-highest run-scorer for Chennai in IPL 2020, has been second to none on the field on the back praiseworthy catches against Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Sharma, who is playing his first IPL 2020 match in place of Piyush Chawla, did exceedingly well to register bowling figures of 4-0-25-2. Earlier, it was Knight Riders captain Dinesh Karthik who had won the toss and chose to bat.
