“At least I had the chance to work”- Mick Schumacher sees positive points after he failed to make debut in Formula 1 at Eifel GP.

Mick Schumacher’s awaited debut in Formula 1 was causing the headlines as he was set to drive an Alfa Romeo in the FP1 of the Eifel GP and it was around 8 years when someone from Schumacher lineage was set to step into F1.

However, it was spoilt by the hazardous weather at Nurburgring which failed the helicopter ambulance to be deployed at its designated area.

Hence, both sessions on the day 1 were cancelled, directly delaying Schumacher and Callum Ilott’s debut in Formula. But he is not disappointed and is only willing to see the bright side of it.

“At least I had the chance to work with the team, to attend the engineering meetings and to talk to the mechanics. I wanted to learn more that weekend, and I succeeded.”

“I was able to follow how the team works, the whole philosophy behind how a racing team works in a GP weekend.” He further said.

No chance to appear in an F1 car in next Grand Prix

Despite Schumacher’s positive insight into the situation, the reality is that the Ferrari’s academy prospect will not be getting further chances in the upcoming Grand Prix.

According to Ferrari team boss Mattia Binotto, the upcoming Grand Prix weekends are not an option. “Portimão is a new circuit for everyone, in Istanbul,

“We have never driven turbo-hybrid engines before, and in Imola, we will only have a two-day weekend”, he lists the objections on Speedweek.com.

The two weekends in Abu Dhabi will also be difficult to include training sessions with the Ferrari talents. “A race in the Bahrain desert is difficult”, the Italian continues.

“Schumacher and Ilott will have to challenge their Formula 2 races there and concentrate on that”. He concluded.
