‘Need a 7-day recovery period afterwards’: Toni Kukoc on how Denis Rodman partied while with Michael Jordan’s Bulls
Reminiscing about his time socializing with Dennis Rodman, Kukoc believes his partying is at a whole different level.
Kukoc and Rodman were teammates during the Chicago Bulls’ second threepeat. While Kukoc served the role of an excellent stretch forward off the bench, Rodman was a defensive guy.
Rodman was one of the best defenders in the league through his whole career. He won 7 straight rebounding titles from 1991-1998, and he was one of the main reasons the Pistons were able to contain Jordan till 1990.
Rodman also had a reputation as a maverick of sorts – a side of him which basketball fans were vividly exposed to in The Last Dance.
Kukoc reveals the crazy partying Rodman indulged in, says he couldn’t keep up
Partying with Dennis Rodman is definitely not for the light or faint-hearted. Carmen Electra, Rodman’s girlfriend during the Bulls’ final championship run, testified as much in her appearance on The Last Dance. Toni Kukoc spoke about his only experience with Rodman at a bar.
“It’s a special type of story, and I couldn’t keep up with him. I partied only once with him because, after that, you need a 7 to 10 days recovery period afterward.”
“There were four of us out, and the first thing he ordered for a drink was 40 shots of vodka and ten beers. I asked him if there are more people coming, and he just said it’s important to keep the bar open. Everybody who was at the bar that night, he had free food and drinks on Rodman.”
Finally got around to watching The Last Dance, Pure class! Denis Rodman leaving in the middle of the NBA finals to go wrestling with Hulk Hogan is one of the best/funniest stories ever! They don’t make them like the used to. https://t.co/28uF3vsLH2

Rodman is somebody who is fiercely loyal to his friends and teammates alike. Everyone who knows him calls him one of their favorite people to have ever met with them. Kukoc has exactly the same views as everyone else.
“He is a great person that was great for everybody else, rather than himself, because he couldn’t find the right balance.”
