‘Russell Westbrook to be traded to Clippers?’: NBA Analyst reveals Rockets star could join Kawhi Leonard in LA
Kevin O’Connor says his sources believe Russell Westbrook could be on the move to possibly the Clippers or the New York Knicks.
Both the Houston Rockets and the Los Angeles Clippers suffered unsatisfying fates in the 2020 Playoffs. Despite making franchise altering trades, neither could reach the Western Conference Finals.
The pairing of Russell Westbrook and James Harden in the Houston backcourt did not pan out well as they could not build enough on court chemistry.
The same would go for the Clippers as Paul George and Kawhi were not given enough time to mesh with the rest of the Clippers squad.
With the Clippers in desperate need for a more dynamic point guard, and Houston yearning for a 2 way wing, Kevin O’Connor suggests an interesting landing spot for Westbrook this offseason.
The Clippers are inquiring about Russell Westbrook
On the latest episode of the Ringer NBA show, Kevin O’Connor talked about Westbrook’s future.
When talking about potential trades that may go down after November 20th, he started to talk about Russ. He said, “The last 24 hours, I did have multiple sources that I trust tell me, Russell Westbrook could be had.”
He continued on by saying, “I’ve heard that the Clippers and Knicks have interest.”

Westbrook on the Clippers would be an upgrade over Pat Bev at the 1. However, it would be interesting to see what the Clips would have to give up in order to sign the 2017 MVP.
Westbrook to the Knicks?
The New York Knicks have been trying to lure a star to New York for years now. With an extremely disappointing 2019 offseason, the Knicks seem desperate.

The Knicks have ample cap space to take on Russ’s contract but it would do them no good in the long run.
