“Of course he is following him” – FIA boss Jean Todt reveals he meets Michael Schumacher regularly, who is excited about Mick’s potential F1 debut with Haas next season.
“Of course, he is following him” – This is what FIA President Jean Todt’s had to say to RTL France when asked if Michael Schumacher was keeping an eye on son Mick’s motorsport rise.
“Mick is probably going to race in Formula 1 next year which will be a great challenge. We would be delighted to have a new Schumacher at the highest level of motor racing.”

Schumacher Sr. is recovering from a ski accident in 2013 that left the legend with horrible brain injuries. The Schumacher family has been tight-tipped about his health update, but Todt’s seems to suggest he is conscious. Todt visits Michael very often, who is being taken care of at their home in Majorca, Spain.
“This is a question on which I am going to be extremely reserved. I see Michael very often – once or twice a month. My answer is the same all the time – he fights. He is very well cared for and in a place that is very comfortable. We can only wish for him and his family that things get better.”
Lewis Hamilton on equalling Michael Schumacher’s record
Lewis Hamilton paid tribute to Michael Schumacher after winning the Turkish GP and equalling the latter’s record of seven world titles. Hamilton considers Schumacher to be an inspiration and an extremely fit driver. There are indications that Hamilton will attempt the record-breaking eighth title next season with Mercedes.
“Michael was just so far ahead, it was beyond my wildest dreams that I could be here today having equaled this record. What he achieved in so many areas, pushing the limit in terms of the physicality side, he really was a pioneer in being the fittest driver at the time. What he did for both the teams that he was at, particularly at Ferrari, was just remarkable.”
