“Everything is becoming more and more sterile”- Sebastian Vettel wants F1 to have a more humane influence on the track than a machine.

Sebastian Vettel who has more than 12 years of experience in Formula 1 finds the sport to take more artificial route. His sudden realization came after the race in Turkey.

The race in Istanbul brought him a podium and he explained that it was not the car which brought him the win, but the harsh weather conditions which allowed him to climb the ranks.

For Vettel, the fact that racing talent only becomes significant when weather conditions change means there is a problem with the sport: “It would be good for F1 if it wasn’t always so perfect. Everything is becoming more and more sterile, especially when it comes to driving. said Vettel to Zeit.

“Every centimetre is recorded with onboard cameras, the lines that we drive are recorded, we can compare, even across teams, with the GPS data.” he further said.

When asked about what changes should be brought in to incorporate his ideas about transforming the sport. To which the German replied, “With more humanity, the whole thing might be more interesting sometimes.”

Ambiguous solution by Vettel

Though Vettel is making sense somewhere, his solution is naive and ambiguous. The German should narrow down his ideas before a dialogue gets started over the dominance of machine in comparison to the human in this sport.

However, his suggestion is also somewhere condescending towards the engineering teams working intensely to covering every limitation and gap to make a car which is perfect under their budget.

In the end, F1 is a team sport, even if only two individuals drive a car, without the on-ground assistance of the engineers and crew across the weekend one can’t win a race, it won’t matter even if you have the greatest car of all time to drive. Hence disproving Vettel’s claim that there is no humanism in it.
