‘Giannis Antetokounmpo to sign supermax extension’: Bucks confident about re-signing Greek Freak despite Bogdan Bogdanovic setback

An NBA insider source reveals that Giannis Antetokounmpo is all set to sign his contract extension.

The NBA free agency this time did not have the level of hype it did last season. Perhaps it was due to the lack of big names. Last year’s free agency had some of the league’s biggest stars in Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and many more. Compared to that, this year’s free agency was more focused on role players rather than superstars.

While this year’s free agency lacked big names, next year’s free agency has one of the brightest stars of the current day NBA. The 2x NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo enters the final season of his contract in the 2020-21 season. He can either sign his contract extension with the Bucks till December 21st or he can enter free agency next season.

Whatever decision the league MVP makes is something to keep a watch out for. Giannis’ decision ultimately is going to affect the entire league. If he decides not to sign, he would be a free agent next summer, and that means every team would try to make a deal for him.

Giannis has failed to make the NBA Finals through 7 seasons now. There is every chance that he might take a chance to form a winning team elsewhere with other stars.

But once he signs that supermax deal, trading for him is going to be a lot less lucrative since the Bucks would then have the biggest bargaining chip in the NBA.
