FIFA U-17 World Cup Trophy Tour dates are out!
The FIFA U-17 World Cup is round the corner and the Sports Ministry is doing everything under its power to spread awareness about the event that could change the Indian footballing landscape forever.
While the state sports ministries are conducting tournaments and tying up with schools to attend the mega event, the first FIFA monitored activity, which is the trophy tour has been formulated and is ready to kick off.
The trophy will be touring six cities around the nation, and the fans would have an opportunity to view the trophy and to get clicked with it as well.
The tour will begin from New Delhi, where the trophy will be on display for 6 days, starting from the 17th of August.
The trophy will be covering close to 4000 km in a period of 40 days, between 17th August and 26th September.
Trophy Display Dates:
New Delhi- 17th August to 22nd August
Guwahati- 24th August to 29th August
Kolkata- 31st August to 5th September
Goa- 14th September to 19th September
Kochi– 21st September to 26th September
“The trophy experience will mark the last phase of our event promotion and it is very important, because it will give the fans around the country the opportunity to get up close to the same official winner’s trophy that the captain of the winning team of the FIFA U-17 World Cup will be lifting on 28 October in Kolkata.” said Praful Patel.
“This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and we hope that people can come in large numbers to the display locations in the host cities.” he added.
Praful Patel feels that this trophy display would help spread the word around for the U-17 World Cup, and provide people with this once in a lifetime opportunity to get clicked with a FIFA trophy.
“This initiative is about bringing the excitement of the FIFA U-17 World Cup trophy experience closer to India’s fans in the run up to this milestone competition.”
“The trophy embodies both the dreams of the best U-17 players in the world and those of millions of Indian fans who will be hosting the football world in October,” commented FIFA Chief Commercial Officer Philippe Le Floc’h.” he concluded.
