The announcement of Giannis signing an extension with the Bucks comes as a feel-good story ahead of next season. It was a long and protracted courtship between him and the front office. Giannis kept saying he would re-sign with the team, but only once the deal was made public did the tension break.

This news is good for the parity of the NBA. Now even if any team would want to trade for the Bucks star, they would have to pay a king’s ransom. Giannis will now keep the Bucks relevant in the Eastern Conference for at least a couple of seasons.

The Greek Freak reportedly pulled out texts and showed him how other NBA players had begun to recruit him to their own teams. This meeting was also done to discuss possible trade targets and free agent signings.
