“I will give next season my full focus”- Sergio Perez aspires to challenge for Championship in 2021
“I will give next season my full focus”- Sergio Perez aspires to challenge for the Championship in 2021, with a competitive car at his behest.
Sergio Perez’s gamble of Red Bull or nothing has certainly worked as the Mexican now content with a contract from the runners-up of 2020, replacing Alex Albon.
Sergio Perez despite being regarded as one of the most talented drivers of his generation, never managed to serve a title-challenging team, with his most remarkable stint being with McLaren in his initial years in F1.
That stint also remained an underwhelming spell and many pointed it out to be a “too soon” move for Perez at that point of time. However, now being a veteran himself, Perez is more than prepared to be any top team.
His recent exhibitions for Racing Point were incredible, forcing others to wonder what can he do in a present-day Mercedes or Red Bull. Alas, the wait is soon going to be over, as he is paired with Max Verstappen for 2021.
Dedicated for the title
Speaking on it, Perez says that he is grateful for the opportunity provided by Red Bull, and would keep his full focus on challenging the title next year.
“I am incredibly grateful to Red Bull for giving me the opportunity to race for Red Bull Racing in 2021,” Perez is quoted as saying by PlanetF1.com.
“The chance to race for a championship-contending team is something I have been hoping for since I joined Formula 1 and it will be a proud moment to step onto the grid in Red Bull colours alongside Max.
“You can be sure that I will give next season my full focus. The Team has the same winning mentality as me and I know I am here to perform and help the Team fight for another title.”
