‘Russell Westbrook is finally at peace with Wizards’: Brody’s friend takes shots at Rockets and James Harden
Russell Westbrook has only found peace after moving to Washington according to his friend, who said this in an interview with the Post.
The former Thunder and Rockets point guard has not had a good time since Kevin Durant signed with the Warriors. His chances of appearing in the Finals seem to be dwindling by the day with his advancing age and declining athleticism.
But what remains is still good enough to keep him ahead of about 95% of the league. Over the years, Russ has acquired composure and guile typical of a veteran. He will be playing a leadership role with a group of young guys with a spooky future.
The Brody is going to play alongside the best shooters he’s ever had at his side in his career. Davis Bertans led the league in 3-point percentage for big men last season.
Russell Westbrook is finally at peace after a few rough years with the Wizards
A person very close to Russ said the following about the point guard’s career change:
“We were looking at the second act of Russell’s career; what’s going to make him happy? What’s important?” said Donnell Beverly, Westbrook’s business partner and longtime friend. “Really, it’s just being at peace. I don’t think that’s where he’s been the last few years. I don’t think he’s been at peace.”

These words may well be interpreted as a dig at both Paul George and James Harden. The Brody has publicly denied any disagreements with either player, but many ugly rumors have emerged.
The Washington Wizards begin their new season with a game at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. They will be looking to get back into the playoff picture following a 2-year hiatus. With Russ at the helm, they have an exceedingly good chance of doing it.
