‘Just get Ben Simmons here’: Rockets fans demand end to James Harden saga after he dodges trade-related question
James Harden answered how he felt about his Rockets future after returning to training camp by saying ‘Next question’.
The sass in the answer is a reflection of how Harden seems to be handling his trade demand with the front office. Jimmy Butler played some real hardball with the media 2 years ago in Minnesota. Harden is opting for the slyer, less confrontational route, but is arguably equally defiant.
Rockets fans cannot catch a break at this moment as every sign seems to be pointing to a Harden exit. There is no doubt that they will be worse off no matter what kind of package they get for the Beard. Transcendent offensive superstars like him don’t come around all that often.
Since being traded by Sam Presti to Daryl Morey’s Rockets, no one has scored more NBA points than James. But it seems he’s sensing an end to the Rockets’ championship window. His antics definitely suggest that strongly.
James Harden says ‘next question’ when asked about his feelings regarding the Rockets
Harden came late to the Rockets’ training camp after partying up in Las Vegas and Atlanta with rapper Lil Baby. The Beard ignited all kinds of trade rumors during a fire-filled week.

His response serves only as fodder to all these exit rumors and the Nets connection seems to be growing stronger than ever. The Sixers can, however, sway things their way by including Ben Simmons.
When he did return to training camp, and eventually to the court for preseason, he looked quite out of shape. It seems it’ll take more than a month for him to return to peak shape.
