“Miami Heat could trade for James Harden”: Brian Windhorst reveals crucial pieces Houston Rockets are asking for to send the Beard to Miami
Brian Windhorst believes that the Miami Heat are preparing to pay a King’s ransom to acquire James Harden from the Rockets.
Harden has been linked to a ton of Eastern Conference playoff teams. By now, he’s been linked to every real contender or dark horse in the East. The Beard has been pretty great to start the season off despite not being in the best physical shape. Through 3 games, James is averaging 37 points and 11 assists.
With John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins taking the floor for the first time since 2018-19, the Rockets sealed a late victory over the Kings last night. It was their first win of the season, and their first game playing their first-choice starting lineup.

James Harden could be traded for Tyler Herro and Duncan Robinson
On his latest podcast, Windhorst laid bare the chances of the Heat making a trade for James Harden:
“I think the Miami Heat could make a trade for him. They (the Rockets) probably want Herro and Robinson. Robinson’s an awfully valuable player. … But I don’t see if you watch how the Heat play, the Heat play high ball movement, high player movement offense. It would be such a dramatic change of style for the Heat.”
In yesterday’s article on ESPN, Windhorst explained why a trade for Harden is imminent for bold front offices:
“At the moment, the NBA has a bloated middle class. There is a large group of teams, maybe as many as a dozen, that are on the edge of contention. They have a star or two. They have a path maybe to reach the second round of the playoffs or maybe even the conference finals, if things fall just right.”
“They are good; they are not great. This is where James Harden comes in, and why his future could shape how this NBA season plays out.”
