Yuvraj Singh is not even in top 74 players in the country
Batting legend, Yuvraj Singh’s dream of representing India in the 2019 World Cup have taken a huge blow. The southpaw’s performances over the last few months have been disappointing, which is why he was dropped for the tour to Sri Lanka.
Today, the BCCI released a list of domestic players in the country that will be contention for the Duleep Trophy and other competitions.
In what was a surprise to many, Yuvraj Singh’s name was a notable omission from the large list. So if Yuvi is not even considered among the top 74 players in the country, how will he ever make a come back into the national team?

Things did look very nice for Yuvraj when he scored 150 against a strong England attack a few months ago. The innings reminded everyone that the left hander still had plenty to offer the Indian team with the bat.
But a poor showing in the Champions Trophy seemed to have put any end to all those who still felt that Yuvraj could play for India again.
His inconsistency has been a major issue. While he does produce a glorious innings from time to time, it does not warrant a sustained run in the side.
Those sporadic moments of brilliance only serve to provide a glimpse of the player who was one of the best limited overs batsmen to have ever played for India.
In spite of this, it would be foolish to write off Yuvraj Singh. As he has repeatedly shown us in his career, Yuvraj is a fighter who will continue to fight for another chance to represent his country in the World Cup.
Now its all up to him!
