“Yeah, Stephen Curry knows how to play”: When Lakers’ LeBron James went to Davidson College to see Warriors star in 2009

LeBron James has been a fan of Stephen Curry since before he ever came to the NBA. Curry was admired by the King during his Davidson career itself.

Before the rivalry between LeBron James and the Warriors star was a thing, the duo had mutual admiration for each other. James was smitten by Curry’s sharpshooting. Steph, in turn, was in awe of the then two-time MVP. Curry was breaking records set 40-odd years ago by Pistol Pete.

Steph slid to 7th in the 2009 draft, but he was commonly considered the most NBA-ready player of his class at the time. In a redraft of his 2009 draft class, Steph will unanimously go first in most people’s eyes.

We all know that despite their intense on-court rivalry, the duo have the highest regard for each other off it. LeBron is universally admired despite being a real cornball, while Steph himself has his lovable idiosyncrasies.

In this video, both of them are seen praising the other. James is praising Stephen Curry while driving to Davidson to watch an NCAA game. Steph, on the other hand, talks about how considerate James is as a fan of the NCAA tournament.
