Virat Kohli accepts that he will not be able to play for a very long time
Indian skipper Virat Kohli is currently in the prime of his life. The dashing batsman is a global icon, as he is widely recognized as one of the best batsmen of his generation.
The right hander, also known as the best chaser in the modern game, has had a fantastic time leading his country. After a superb home season, Indian toured Sri Lanka and beat the hosts 9-0 across all formats.
Kohli also reached 30 ODI hundreds, something that puts him only behind Sachin Tendulkar in the all time centuries list.

While many people did not believe Sachin’s record could be touched, Kohli’s recent exploits have given him a realistic chance of breaking the little master’s record.
At a recent event, Kohli spoke about how cricketers don’t know for how long they can continue to play, which is why maintaining their fitness is a major issue.
“Lot of us don’t actually know how far we can push ourselves. May be at times, without knowing, we are only able to realise 70 percent of our potential. Therefore it is necessary to push yourself until you are done. For example, if I train as hard as I train now, I will possibly play for another 10 years,” Kohli said during a promotional event.
Kohli also spoke about how India has made enormous progress as a sporting nation.
“India has made rapid strides as a sporting nation. The days of being a one-sport country are behind us. The time is just right to introduce an institution that will recognise and reward our top sporting achievers and put the spotlight on those who are expected to do the country proud in the years to come,” Kohli said.
“I remember how I along with my friends watched Gopi sir’s All England victory. I had a friend who was a state level badminton player and we all watched the match together.
“We are all proud of Gopi sir for what he has achieved. He has been producing world class badminton players (PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, Kidambi Srikanth),” said Kohli.
