Clippers’ star Paul George is playing at a high level, has led the Clippers to an 11-4 start

After a terrible showing in the Orlando bubble, Paul George looks like he is back to being the MVP level player we know. After having the worst playoff campaign of his career, George is back to putting up high-efficiency numbers in regular season play.

PG’s shots were ‘way-off’ in the Bubble, but he is shooting around 51% from the deep this season. Paul George, after signing the mammoth deal this off-season, has been hell-bent on proving his worth. He has been leading the Clippers with 24.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in the 10 games he’s played this season.

The Los Angeles Clippers have started their latest homestand with a bang, taking down the Pacers 129-96. The Clippers had 3 players, including Paul George and Marcus Morris, who contributed 20 points each.

In the post-match interview, Marcus Morris broke down the team’s success to start the season:

“I feel like our energy is way better this season. Guys are buying in, guys are enjoying playing the game. Obviously, there’s been a lot of talk about PG… I’m excited to see how far he can take it. He’s definitely playing MVP basketball.”

While Paul George is having his ‘vengeance season’, it is benefitting the Clippers a lot. If he can keep up his performance, and keep leading the Clippers to wins, his chances at winning MVP would be high. George’s attempt to salvage his ‘Pandemic P’ nickname, and to justify his mammoth contract seem to be proving fruitful.  If he can carry this form into later the season as well, he’ll turn the narrative around.
