Christian makes WWE return, reunites with Edge at Royal Rumble 2021. The Royal Rumble is known for its surprises.

It’s common knowledge at this point that WWE’s Royal Rumble will feature comebacks and returns. Which is why every countdown is met with eager anticipation. The WWE likes their fans to believe that anything can happen in the WWE but not even the most optimistic of them saw this one coming,

WWE Legend Christian made his first in ring appearance in the WWE after 6 years at the Royal Rumble tonight. Christian walked in at number 24 and joined former tag team partner and real life best friend Edge in the ring.

Christian last appeared in the WWE back in 2014. He had won a fatal four way match to become the number one contender for the Intercontinental Champion back then. However, the match never took place due to him suffering a concussion.

He was moved to WWE’s alumni section in 2015 and confessed to Jericho a year later that it was unlikely he would ever wrestle again.

He confirmed his retirement on his podcast in 2017.

A return was teased last year after Edge’s injury. It seemed like the WWE were gearing up for Christian to take Edge’s place in the feud. The match never did take place and most fans had given up on an in ring return.

Tonight however, he has taken to a WWE ring again and made it to the final five with Edge, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman.

He was unlikely to win but that doesn’t matter. Many wished to see him in a WWE ring just one more time, one last match and it has finally happened.
