“LeBron James has eclipsed Michael Jordan off the court”: Skip Bayless showers praise on the Lakers star for new initiatives and risk-taking as he passes $1 billion mark in earnings
News of LeBron James passing the $1 billion mark in career earnings will be like music to the ears of many basketball fans around the planet.
There’s a whole host of people who have supported James as an athlete for over 20 years. LeBron has been in the public consciousness ever since his junior year of high school.
We all believed he had the ability to be a first-ball Hall of Famer. But James has surprised even his most passionate fans’ expectations of him over the years, reigning supreme as the league’s best player for at least a decade.
There is no doubt that James richly deserves all the money he’s been earning.
Skip Bayless commends LeBron James for being a trailblazer for the NBA
Skip Bayless heaped some well-deserved praise on the Lakers star for being so enterprising off the court. He genuinely does believe that James has built a better off-court fortune than any other American team sportsperson:
“I have nothing but respect and regard for what LeBron has achieved off the court. It’s staggering to me. He’s shattered the mould. He blazed trails nobody has blazed. That’s a figure, that $1 billion.”
“I just read this, that the whole sum of earnings – record haul for an NBA player and the highest ever in American team sports history. He might be an NBA team owner in 5 years – oof! He has eclipsed Michael Jeffrey Jordan off the court.”
“Michael Jordan sort of invented – created the new sneaker industry. He IS the sneaker industry, and there was Space Jam. That’s Michael. But LeBron went in every direction. Michael didn’t have such a vast portfolio, his is pretty much confined to this, this and one movie (gestures on the table).”
“LeBron has eclipsed Jordan off the court. Sneaker industry and Space Jam is MJ. But LeBron went every direction. He shattered the mold.”
