The Clippers have been shooting lights out this season – at a historically elite level. They’re on track to crack 40% from 3 and 80% on freebies.

Clippers Nation had a disappointing end to their campaign last season. The team blew a 3-1 lead in the second round of the playoffs against the Denver Nuggets.

This season, the Clippers are hoping to bounce back. They have had a fantastic start to the 2020-2021 campaign led by the All-Star duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

The Clippers even got some new acquisitions like Serge Ibaka, Nicola Batum and Luke Kennard to make the team a lethal shooting team.

Fortunately for the Clippers, everything is going well. Los Angeles is shooting an outstanding 42.6% from three and 84.7% from the free-throw line. They are on track to be the only team in NBA history to ever shoot 40%+ and 80%+, respectively, in the same season.

Kawhi Leonard can lead the Clippers  to a finish as the best three-point shooting team in NBA history

The Ty Lue-led Los Angeles Clippers aren’t shooting the most three-pointers, or even making the most. They are just shooting the ball more efficiently. An abundance of their shots from beyond the arc are smart, open shots. The team manages to not take any hasty or ill-advised jumpers.

On Monday night, the Clippers pulled out yet another fantastic shooting performance in a win against the Miami Heat. They shot 46.9% from the 3-point line while shooting 80% on free throws.

Despite missing their star perimeter guys in Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, the Clippers defeated the Heat 125-118. The odds of the Clippers finishing the season with these mind-blowing numbers remain fairly good.

Although it is still early in the season for any speculations to be made, one thing is for sure: If the team manages to keep up its stunning shooting, they’ll be contenders in the postseason.
