“What a catch”: Mitchell Santner amazes one and all with tremendous catch to dismiss Mitchell Marsh in 1st T20I
Mitchell Santner amazes one and all: The all-rounder from New Zealand made his presence felt on the field at the Hagley Oval.
During the first T20I of the ongoing Australia’s tour of New Zealand in Christchurch, New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner put on display a terrific fielding effort to dismiss his Australian counterpart in Mitchell Marsh.
It all happened on the penultimate delivery of the 13th over when Marsh’s attempt to cut New Zealand all-rounder Kyle Jamieson led to his dismissal. In what was a short and wide delivery, Marsh considered it as a valid run-scoring opportunity.
Having said that, the right-hand batsman failed to clear Santner at backward point. With Marsh timing the ball well, Santner had little time to move and complete the catch but his quick reflexes aided him in amazing one and all at the Hagley Oval.

Marsh, who was surprisingly sent ahead of the likes of Glenn Maxwell (1) and Marcus Stoinis (8) at No. 4 in the second over, top-scored for Australia with his 45 (33) comprising of five fours and two sixes.
Chasing a dominating 185-run target, the Australian innings never really got going as they were eventually bundled out for 131 in 17.3 overs. With bowling figures of 4-0-28-4, New Zealand spinner Ish Sodhi registered career-best figures to be the pick of the bowlers for his team. Other than Sodhi, new ball pair of Tim Southee and Trent Boult dismissed a couple of batsmen each.
After Australia captain Aaron Finch (1) won the toss and invited the hosts in to bat, New Zealand scored 184/5 in 20 overs on the back of Devon Conway scoring a career-best 99* (59) with the help of 10 fours and three sixes.

He can hit boundaries in the death overs, he can open the bowling, he can stop the runs, he can take wickets and he can fly and stop the runs by plucking the ball. He is Mitchell Santner. pic.twitter.com/P8GMhcnMeb
