“Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have no heart”: Kendrick Perkins goes off on Celtics stars following abysmal losing streak

Kendrick Perkins takes on Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, says they play with no heart and show poor body language when on the court. 

With more than a third of the season down the hatchet, the Boston Celtics have delved into mediocrity. After starting the year off on a relatively high note, the Celtics are now middling with a 15-17 record.

They are on a three-game losing streak following their most recent blowout loss to the Atlanta Hawks as they allowed an ice cold Danillo Gallinari to catch fire and drop a career-high 10 3s on them. 

Though Tatum and Brown have been selected to represent the Celtics in the 2021 All-Star Game, they haven’t been living up to the selection as of late. In their loss to the Hawks, both Brown and Tatum had abysmal shooting percentages from the field as they combined for merely 30 points.

Though the Celtics’ problems go well beyond just their two star guards, Kendrick Perkins decided to harp on the latter and blame them for the loss to Hawks. 

Kendrick Perkins doesn’t hold back on Jayson Tatum and co for their poor play

Former Boston Celtic Kendrick Perkins seems to have had enough of the Boston Celtics’ recent woes. He used this interview to lay out what he feels is wrong with the Celtics of late: 

“Here’s the problem I have. No heart and it starts with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tonight, all I saw out of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum was bad body language, shooting up a whole lot of shots, complaining to the refs, and not playing any type of defense.”

Tatum and Brown might be experiencing a slight slump at the moment, but the Celtics roster as a whole just doesn’t mesh well together. Guys like Jeff Teague have shown that they do not deserve to have extended minutes on a team that is looking to contend for a title.

Kemba Walker has been a shell of his Hornets self and is currently being outplayed by the man that the Celtics gave him in exchange for him: Terry Rozier. 

In response to the Celtics’ struggles, Danny Ainge claimed he needed to get more help for Tatum and Brown. “I think we need to surround Brown and Taum with more scoring. We need more dynamic talent off the bench. We need guys who won’t be subservient to them, but guys who will compliment them.”
