“LeBron James will be missing his first game of this season”: Lakers star has been ruled out of their back-to-back game against Sacramento Kings with ankle sprain
The All-Star break could not have come at a better time for LeBron James. The 4-time MVP will miss their game against the Kings with ankle issues.
James has been a veritable Ironman for the length of his career. His durability and longevity are truly second to none. He’s suffered just one major injury-enforced absence in what is now an 18-year span of excellence.
With Anthony Davis first out of form and then out of rotation with injury, James has carried a heavier load than he might have bargained for. He’s been equal to the challenge, making an MVP case for himself and keeping the Lakers at the top of the Western Conference.
James has had to play through injury concerns of his own. The 36-year-old has played their first 36 games of the season despite suffering an ankle sprain in the very first. This came as a result of an awkward landing on Opening Night against the crosstown Clippers.
James will earn some well-deserved rest after a tough loss to the Suns on a night when they missed Kyle Kuzma. Despite Devin Booker’s ejection, the Lakers failed to capitalize on a weakened Suns team. All of their starters except James shot terribly on the night.
LeBron waged a lone battle with some stupendous, unstoppable scoring off drives. He had 38 points on 16-of-24 from the field, missing just one of his 16 2-point attempts.
Will LeBron James play in the All-Star Game?
The midseason festivities are less than a week away from us. James earned his 17th straight All-Star starter’s berth, in addition to the title of the West’s captain. It is unclear whether he will play in the game given his ongoing injury troubles.
Nevertheless, he will at least be expected by the league to at least attend the festivities.
LeBron James will not play Wednesday in the second night of the Lakers’ back-to-back in Sacramento for rest, according to a team spokesperson. It will be James’ first missed game of the season after playing in the first 36.

The Lakers are basically having to field their third-string lineup for this Kings game. In addition to LeBron, AD, Marc Gasol, Kyle Kuzma and Alex Caruso shall also be out of reckoning with injury.
