“Pietersen on fire”: Fans amazed as Kevin Pietersen and Phil Mustard score 22 runs off Pragyan Ojha over
Kevin Pietersen: The captain of England Legends continued his fine stroke-play at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium.
During the ninth match of the ongoing Road Safety World Series between India Legends and England Legends in Raipur, England Legends captain Kevin Pietersen made optimum use of the powerplay by taking on India Legends bowlers.
Opening the batting with Phil Mustard (14), Pietersen took on the attack against India Legends spinner Pragyan Ojha hitting him for a six on the first delivery which he bowled in the second over of the innings.
Having hit a boundary on the following delivery, Pietersen once again stepped out to hit Ojha down the ground for another six. While India Legends captain Sachin Tendulkar would’ve hoped of troubling Pietersen with a left-arm spinner, the Englishman had other plans as he continued his fine stroke-play in the tournament.
On the penultimate delivery of the over, it was Mustard’s turn to find a boundary against Ojha as the English duo collected as many as 22 runs in the over.
Pietersen, who hit a couple of boundaries off India Legends pacer Manpreet Gony in the fifth over, hit a couple of sixes off Yuvraj Singh to complete a brisk 18-ball half-century in the seventh over. Good friends off the field, Pietersen and Yuvraj were recently seen playing golf with each other in Raipur.
